Built by Nature at Global Buildings and Climate Forum to Moderate Key Session on Accelerating Wood and Biobased Materials

AMSTERDAM February 29. We're delighted to share the news that Built by Nature CEO Paul King has been invited to moderate the session "Accelerating Wood & Biobased Materials", at next week's Buildings and Climate Global Forum, co-organised by the French government and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), with the support of the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC).

This is an important forum, taking place on 7-8 March in Paris, as it follows the successful launch of the Buildings Breakthrough, supported by 28 governments, the European Commission, and 19 international initiatives at COP28 UAE on 6 December 2023. For the first time since then, this forum will convene ministers and representatives of key organisations -- to spark international collaboration for building decarbonisation and resilience.

Paul's co-lead for the session will be Peter Graham from the Forest & Climate Leaders' Partnership (FCLP), and they'll be exploring how increasing the use of timber and other biobased materials for construction can increase the economic value of forests and attract additional investment, creating multiple socio-economic as well as environmental benefits.

With the expectation of participation of senior government representatives from various governments, we can anticipate strong "calls to action" from Paul and Peter's session, along with endorsement, hopefully, of a broader declaration outlining common principles and cooperation framework for global efforts to achieve decarbonisation and climate change resilience in the buildings sector.

We look forward to providing updates from Paris late next week.
