Our Future: Built by Nature features the six winners of the Built by Nature Prize 2025. Produced by Open Planet Studios and narrated by Kevin McCloud, the documentary follows these pioneering projects and the value chains behind them to explore how transformation is possible in a sector responsible for nearly 40% of global emissions. The film asks a single question: How can our homes, and the way we build them, help solve the climate crisis? It includes global perspectives, highlighting scalable, locally rooted solutions that reimagine the built environment through timber and biobased materials. The film premiered at COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

About the featured projects

At the heart of the documentary are six real-world examples of the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction in action, winners of the Built by Nature Prize 2025. They reflect shared principles for responsible timber construction, linking design, forestry, and climate accountability across the value chain.

From Uganda to the UK, these projects showcase scalable, affordable, and locally rooted solutions that reimagine the built environment through timber and biobased materials.
