Built by Nature launches Global Campaign for Timber Principles
AMSTERDAM, June 18. Built by Nature launches a global campaign for the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction, and is inviting all stakeholders across the timber value chain to endorse them.
These five Principles provide a shared framework to ensure timber use in construction supports climate, nature, and people:
- Extending the life of existing buildings
- Accounting for Whole Life Cycle impacts
- Ensuring Sustainable Forest Management
- Maximising the carbon storage potential of wood
- Promoting a timber building bioeconomy
The Principles will be showcased at COP30 in Brazil, alongside endorsing organisations. They also form the basis of the Built by Nature Prize 2025, celebrating real-world impact.
