BbN funds IABR’s research on Paris’ biobased construction
Cities across Europe are accelerating the transition to low-carbon construction, with Paris emerging as a leader in biobased building through strong policies and innovative practices. However, translating these advances across borders requires better knowledge sharing, practical tools, and stronger collaboration between stakeholders.
Aim
This grant supports the initiative “Material Transition – Learning from Grand Paris,” led by the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR). The project aims to capture and share lessons from Paris’s leadership in timber and biobased construction to inspire wider adoption across Europe.
Why we fund this
Aligned with Built by Nature’s focus on networks, knowledge & innovation, policy, and strategic communications, the initiative combines research, exhibitions, and events to inspire stakeholders, build international exchange networks, and provide practical tools for scaling low-carbon building practices.
