Trailer Launch: “Our Future: Built by Nature” Premieres in São Paulo
We’re proud to unveil the trailer for Our Future: Built by Nature, a new documentary produced by Open Planet Studios. Narrated by Kevin McCloud and featuring appearances by Sir David Attenborough several key global experts, the film explores how the way we build our homes can become a key to solving the climate crisis.
At the heart of the documentary are six real-world examples of the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction in action, winners of the Built by Nature Prize 2025. From Uganda to the UK, these projects showcase scalable, affordable, and locally rooted solutions that reimagine the built environment through timber and biobased materials.
Our Future asks a single question:
How can our homes, and the way we build them, help solve the climate crisis?
The documentary follows each winning project and the value chains behind them, revealing how transformation is possible in a sector responsible for nearly 40% of global emissions.
We’re proud to include contributions from experts Manuel Pulgar-Vidal Global leader of Climate & Energy, WWF, Thais Linhares-Juvenal, Leader of the Forest Governance and Economics, FAO Forestry Division, Mirey Atallah, Chief of the Adaptation and Resilience Branch, UNEP Climate Change Division, Claudine Blamey, Chief Sustainability Office, Aviva and Jose Torero, Head of Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, University College London. Their insights help frame the global significance of the Prize and the urgent need for forest-positive construction solutions.
