Timber has a vital role in decarbonising the built environment. But scaling its use must be done responsibly, ensuring forests, communities, and future generations benefit.
That’s why Built by Nature, together with partners, created the Principles for Responsible Timber Construction – a global framework and common language to ensure timber is sourced, specified, and used in ways that safeguard people and planet. The Principles were developed in support of the Forest Climate Leaders Partnership’s Greening Construction with Sustainable Wood initiative, launched at COP28, and are helping to align industry, policy, and finance around a shared vision for responsible timber.
This one-hour webinar provides a clear introduction to the Principles, their real-world implications, and the growing movement of industry leaders and organisations endorsing them.
What you’ll learn:
- Why the Principles were created and the assumptions behind them
- The five Principles and what they mean in practice
- How the Principles are gaining momentum across industry
- Their role in shaping climate action at COP30 in Belém, Brazil
Who’s speaking:
- Paul King, CEO, Built by Nature
- Nasra Nanda, CEO, Kenya Green Building Society
