Timber Construction: shared narrative, myths and research agenda

AMS Institute extends study into timber myths and misperceptions to address misinformation and knowledge gaps around mass timber construction in Europe

Joke Dufourmont

Programme Developer

AMS Institute and its partners have mapped the concerns and narratives related to mass timber for construction across Europe in a co-creation process with leading mass timber from academia and practice across Europe. This project has led to the publication of a booklet to target misinformation, provide facts and introduce nuances around key topics related to mass timber construction in Europe such as structural performance of mass timber, fire risk, wood supply and many others. The booklet is entitled Discussing Timber Myths: a dialogue between our ambitions and the facts.
